Our Opportunity

 

Location: Cloudbreak - Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.

 

Roster: 4D3R - FIFO Ex Perth

 

As Manager Mobile Maintenance, you will be at the forefront of Fortescue’s transition to green mining, leading the safe, efficient and future-focused management of our mobile equipment maintenance operations. You will drive innovation and reliability in support of the mine’s decarbonisation journey, overseeing the integration of renewable fleet while ensuring world class performance of our existing heavy mobile equipment (HME).

 

This senior leadership role is central to achieving Cloudbreak mine’s carbon neutrality targets, requiring a balance of technical excellence, operational discipline and strategic foresight.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and optimise all mobile maintenance functions with a focus on safety, culture and reliability.
  • Develop and execute fleet maintenance strategies that support both current HME performance and the adoption of emerging zero-emissions technologies.
  • Provide direction, coaching, and mentoring to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendents and Supervisors, building capability for the future workforce.
  • Champion the integration of green fleet technologies into site operations, ensuring reliability and maintainability.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders across operations, mine planning, decarbonisation, engineering and OEM partners.
  • Ensure planning and execution practices align with asset lifecycle strategies and whole-of-life (WOL) cost optimisation.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement continuous improvement opportunities in asset management, predictive maintenance and digital systems.
  • Drive compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements while setting high standards for ESG performance.
  • Lead change management initiatives to build an adaptive, skilled workforce ready for a decarbonised mining future.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Extensive experience in mobile maintenance, asset management or fleet strategy roles within the mining or heavy industries.
  • Proven leadership in integrating new technologies (e.g., electrification, hydrogen, automation) into large-scale fleet operations.
  • Strong track record of stakeholder engagement, including collaboration with OEMs, technology partners and internal business units.
  • Demonstrated ability in budget development, cost control and long-term fleet optimisation.
  • Advanced capability in SAP (or equivalent ERP system), data analytics tools, and high proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience leading cultural and workforce transformation aligned with innovation.
