Our Opportunity
Work Location: Chichester Hub - Fortescue’s Chichester operations are located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.
Roster: 8D/6R - FIFO ex Perth, Busselton, Broome, Karratha, Port Hedland, Fitzroy Crossing and Kununurra
The Mechanical Leading Hand is responsible for providing frontline leadership and technical support within the Central Zone Water Management team. This role ensures safe and efficient dewatering operations while maintaining fleet availability and driving operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion a strong safety-first and Zero Harm culture
- Ensure correct work management processes to maximise fleet availability
- Provide leadership coverage and day-to-day team direction
- Prioritise breakdown work to achieve departmental KPIs
- Provide in-field technical support to the team
- Support development and mentoring of new team members
- Raise notifications, close work orders and complete time confirmations in SAP
- Collaborate with Operations and Mining to achieve best outcomes
Qualifications and Experience
- Extensive experience in Dewatering Operations
- Demonstrated people leadership experience
- DEMIRS Legislation Exam - Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor
- Strong knowledge of pumping fundamentals
- Rigging and Dogging ticket
- Franna crane ticket
- Experience using SAP and computer-based maintenance systems (Cat® Parts preferred)
