Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: Across All Pilbara Sites - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

 

Roster: 8D/6R Perth FIFO

 

Reporting to the Superintendent – HME (New Machines), this role is responsible for the successful delivery and commissioning of new equipment. Effective execution is critical to achieving cost efficiency, equipment availability, and reliability targets.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure all new equipment complies with Fortescue requirements, as well as Australian, international, and relevant mining regulations.
  • Support the development, documentation, and ongoing management of HME specifications.
  • Act as a key liaison with OEMs and vendors to ensure adherence to project schedules, effective cost control, and timely resolution of issues.
  • Oversee OEMs and contractors to ensure full compliance with Fortescue standards, policies, and safety processes.
  • Conduct inspections of HME to verify that all systems and components are installed in accordance with current specifications and operational requirements.
  • Carry out QAQC process inspections prior to acceptance of all assets
  • Manage build pads and oversee all activities conducted within the build pad area
  • Coordinate OSOM transport and manage site access notifications

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of mining regulations, including Australian, international, and other applicable standards.
  • Proven experience in a comparable role within a similar operational environment.
  • Strong project management expertise, with a track record of delivering outcomes effectively.
  • Relevant engineering or trade qualifications
  • Solid understanding of autonomous technology systems and their application in mining operations.
  • Experience with electric heavy mobile equipment (EME) is highly regarded.
  • Well-developed leadership capabilities with the ability to influence and drive outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Highly developed organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
