Our Opportunity
Work Location: Perth CBD office, on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.
Roster: Monday to Friday with flexibility around hours and child care creache available.
Step into a high-impact role within Fortescue’s Integrated Planning team, where your work will directly shape the performance of a world-class supply chain. We’re looking for a driven and curious Planning Specialist to operate in the medium-term (2-year) planning horizon, partnering closely with leaders across mine, rail, and port operations.
Reporting to the Superintendent Integrated Planning, you’ll play a key role in optimising supply chain outcomes—balancing volume, grade, and operational constraints to unlock maximum value. Working alongside talented schedulers, data analysts and modelling specialists, you’ll develop and test scenarios that influence real business decisions. This is a role for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, engaging stakeholders, and continuously improving the way planning is done.

Key Responsibilities
- Shape and deliver integrated mine-to-port plans that drive Fortescue’s business performance
- Translate complex supply chain constraints into clear insights, highlighting risks, opportunities, and practical mitigation strategies
- Own and optimise the shutdown schedule to balance production, product quality, and resource constraints
- Collaborate with modelling and analytics experts to identify and deliver initiatives that unlock supply chain value
- Champion continuous improvement across planning tools, systems, and processes
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in Mine Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline
- 1–3 years’ experience in mining or bulk commodities (iron ore exposure preferred)
- Strong analytical capability, with experience querying large datasets using SQL or Python (Snowflake, Excel, Power BI applications highly regarded)
- Proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships, influence outcomes, and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
- Confidence communicating insights and plans to both operational teams and senior leaders
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and experience with Mine Planning software
