Our Opportunity
Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.
Roster: 4D/3R ex Perth
We are currently seeking a high-performing and enthusiastic Mine Planning Engineer to join the Iron Bridge Operations Planning team.
Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, this role is responsible for developing and coordinating detailed 3-Month mine schedules and associated planning deliverables to support safe, efficient, and achievable operational outcomes.
This position plays a critical role in translating strategic mine plans into practical and executable schedules while balancing operational constraints, production targets, and compliance requirements. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical capability, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed 3-Month mine schedules aligned with operational and production targets.
- Optimise mining sequences, haulage profiles, fleet utilisation, and operational efficiencies through practical scheduling.
- Monitor schedule performance, identify risks and constraints, and drive continuous improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with planning, operations, and support teams to ensure schedules remain achievable and aligned with site priorities.
- Prepare schedule updates, forecasts, and reporting to support operational decision-making and business planning.
- Provide technical guidance and communicate schedule risks, opportunities, and operational impacts to stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in Mining Engineering with exposure to short-term planning.
- Strong capability in mine scheduling software, with Alastri experience highly regarded.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and operational planning skills with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to present technical information clearly.
- Experience working in dynamic operational environments, with desirable exposure to APS/ATS, D&B, Power BI, Tableau, and programming languages such as SQL, VBA, C#, or Python.
