Our Opportunity
Location: Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.
Roster: 8D6R
Fortescue is seeking an experienced Planner & Scheduler to join the Mobile Maintenance team at Solomon. This role is critical to building safe, executable maintenance schedules that improve fleet reliability, equipment availability, and overall operational performance.
You will be responsible for developing the weekly maintenance schedule, managing work orders, coordinating parts and specialist resources, and working closely with Supervisors, Coordinators and the Superintendent to ensure planned work is delivered safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the weekly maintenance schedule in line with servicing requirements and operational priorities
- Facilitate schedule review meetings, planning discussions and performance metrics reviews
- Manage work order creation, maintenance notifications, parts requirements and follow-up actions
- Coordinate specialist labour, tooling and vendor support for planned maintenance activities
- Maintain asset and maintenance tracking spreadsheets to ensure required work is planned and executed
- Raise parts requests for material creation, stocking and ongoing maintenance readiness
- Monitor rotable and major component delivery dates, working with vendors to support schedule compliance
- Build strong working relationships across Maintenance, Supply, Operations and other key stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to improve planning quality, schedule compliance and maintenance execution
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in a maintenance planning or scheduling role within the mining or heavy industry sector
- Strong SAP experience in a maintenance planning function is essential along with Microsoft Excel and Project
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with Supervisors, Coordinators, Supply and Operations teams
- Strong commitment to safety, planning discipline and continuous improvement
- Understanding of efficiency, reliability and availability drivers in a large-scale mining operation
- Willingness to adapt as Fortescue continues to decarbonise Mobile Maintenance
