We are currently seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Coordinator – Conveyors to join our Port Hedland Operations team. Reporting to the Superintendent Services, this leadership position plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient performance of conveyor systems that support Fortescue's world-class port operations.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional to lead a high-performing team, influence operational outcomes and contribute to the continuous improvement of one of Australia's largest bulk materials handling operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visible safety leadership and foster a culture where everyone goes home safe every day
- Coordinate and oversee maintenance activities across conveyor assets to achieve reliability and availability targets
- Lead frontline teams and contractors to safely execute planned and corrective maintenance works
- Support shutdown planning and execution activities
- Monitor asset performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure maintenance work is completed in accordance with statutory, operational and company requirements
- Build strong working relationships with Operations, Planning, Engineering and contractor partners
- Develop team capability through coaching, mentoring and leadership support
- Contribute to budget, resource and work management processes
Qualifications and Experience
You will be an engaging and collaborative leader with a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
You will also possess:
- Demonstrated experience in maintenance leadership or coordination roles within mining, ports, heavy industry or bulk materials handling environments
- Strong knowledge of conveyor systems and associated mechanical equipment
- Proven ability to lead and motivate diverse teams in a dynamic operational environment
- Experience managing contractors and multiple stakeholders
- Sound understanding of maintenance planning, scheduling and execution principles
- Strong problem-solving, communication and decision-making skills
- Trade qualification or relevant technical discipline (highly regarded)
