Our Opportunity
Work Location: Cloudbreak - Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.
Roster: 7D/7N/14R - FIFO ex Perth, Busselton, Broome, Karratha, Port Hedland, Fitzroy Crossing and Kununurra
Cloudbreak is seeking a Supervisor Cranes - OPF to lead safe and efficient crane and lifting operations across the Ore Processing Facility (OPF). Reporting to the Maintenance Services Coordinator, this role is responsible for supervising crane crews, coordinating complex lifting activities, ensuring compliance with lifting standards, and supporting maintenance shutdown and project execution activities while driving a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise crane operators, riggers and doggers within the OPF.
- Coordinate daily lifting activities to support maintenance and operations.
- Ensure all lifting operations comply with Fortescue and statutory requirements.
- Review and approve lift studies, lift plans and risk assessments.
- Manage crane utilisation, availability and contractor performance.
- Provide field leadership and coaching to build team capability.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement in lifting practices, safety and productivity.
Qualifications and Experience
- Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor appointment or ability to obtain.
- Demonstrated experience supervising crane and lifting operations in mining.
- High Risk Work Licences relevant to crane, rigging and dogging activities.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and lifting regulations.
- Experience supporting fixed plant maintenance and shutdown execution.
- Proven leadership and contractor management capability.
- Sound understanding of risk management and permit-to-work systems.
- Strong communication, planning and stakeholder engagement skills.
