Fortescue is looking for a creative and highly capable Senior Content & Social Specialist to help bring our brand, projects, people and purpose to life across digital and social channels.
This is a hands-on role for someone who knows how to turn ideas into compelling content that people want to watch, read and share. You will combine strong writing, editing and storytelling skills with a deep understanding of social media trends, audience behaviour and digital content performance.
Working closely with teams across the business, you will source stories, develop content, manage publishing schedules and support the delivery of engaging campaigns across our owned channels. From drafting social copy and producing short-form video concepts through to capturing content in the field and working with creative partners, you will play a key role in shaping how Fortescue’s story is told.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the intake, prioritisation and coordination of digital content briefs from multiple stakeholders.
- Plan, produce and publish engaging content across social media, digital and owned channels.
- Source stories from across the business and identify strong angles that bring complex topics to life.
- Write, edit and adapt content for different formats including social posts, articles, video, photography, web and campaign assets.
- Support the day-to-day delivery of social media plans, including scheduling, publishing and optimising content.
- Monitor social media channels, support community engagement and escalate issues or risks where required.
- Coordinate content production workflows, ensuring assets, approvals and stakeholders are aligned to deadlines.
- Work with internal teams, external agencies, photographers, videographers and designers to deliver high-quality content.
- Track content performance, including reach, engagement, audience growth and effectiveness.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve future content, channel strategy and audience engagement.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business to support accurate, engaging and strategically aligned storytelling.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in a related marketing, content, digital or social media role.
- Relevant qualification in marketing, communications or a related discipline.
- Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms and content publishing tools.
- Experience creating content across multiple formats, including video, social media, web and email.
- Strong understanding of social media best practice, platform trends and audience engagement.
- Experience using content management, social scheduling and analytics platforms.
- Background in brand, content creation or issues-led storytelling will be highly regarded.
- Experience working with complex topics such as climate, sustainability, social impact, science, business, data, research or policy will be highly regarded.
- Experience supporting thought leadership content would be beneficial.
