Work Location: Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.

Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth

Reporting to the Health and Safety Superintendent this role is responsible for assisting with the development, implementation and coaching of Safety Management Systems to ensure continual improvement in a dynamic mining operations environment. Key to the success of this position will be the ability to develop good interpersonal relationships with workers on all levels of the operation and the organisation, furthermore Personal commitment, competence, consistency, reliability, and a practical approach are crucial elements of this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to deliver HSES strategic objectives and improve safety performance.
• Coach and mentor leaders and teams to build safety capability, compliance, and proactive risk management.
• Support incident investigations and the effective use of Fortescue's Incident Management System (BMS).
• Participate in contractor management audits and the implementation of the Major Hazard Program.
• Develop and deliver health and safety initiatives, communications, and promotional materials.
• Build strong relationships with operational leaders, consultants, and government agencies to support safety outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2 years minimum experience demonstrated substantial Safety Advisor experience in an operational environment
• Relevant Occupational Health & Safety qualifications - Cert IV WHS/ Diploma
• Demonstrated high motivation and output under minimal supervision
• Safety Auditing qualification (Lead Auditor) (not essential) and an awareness of WHS legislation
• Experience in data analysis, trending and reporting
• Demonstrated experience in ICAM investigations
• Experience in risk management
• Current "C" Class Western Australian Driver's License or equivalent
