Our Opportunity
Work Location: Cloudbreak Ore Processing Facility (OPF) - Fortescue's Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.
Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth
Fortescue is seeking an experienced Refrigeration Technician to join the Ore Processing Facility (OPF) Maintenance team at Cloudbreak. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and availability of refrigeration, HVAC and associated cooling systems that support critical fixed plant infrastructure.
This is a hands-on role suited to a highly skilled tradesperson who thrives in a technically challenging environment. You will use your advanced troubleshooting capability to safely maintain, diagnose and improve refrigeration and air conditioning assets while supporting operational reliability across the OPF.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, inspect and repair commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Diagnose complex refrigeration and air conditioning faults.
- Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on critical assets.
- Install, commission and optimise refrigeration equipment.
- Ensure compliance with ARCtick, electrical and site standards.
- Complete maintenance documentation and SAP work orders accurately.
- Identify reliability improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor apprentices and less experienced technicians where required.
- Work collaboratively with Maintenance, Operations and Engineering teams.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety and risk management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Trade Qualification.
- Current ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence.
- Restricted Electrical Workers Licence (WA) or recognised equivalent.
- Current C Class Driver's Licence.
- Extensive experience maintaining commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.
- Demonstrated fault-finding experience on large HVAC and cooling systems.
- Experience in mining, heavy industry or remote operations is highly regarded.
- Experience with CMMS/SAP maintenance systems.
- Strong commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.
