Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: Cloudbreak Mine Site, on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.

 

Roster: 8D/6R - FIFO ex Perth, Busselton, Broome, Karratha, Port Hedland, Fitzroy Crossing and Kununurra

 

Fortescue is seeking a dynamic and passionate Mining Efficiency Trainer with a strong understanding of mining operations to join our Cloudbreak Mining Team.

 

This role is responsible for delivering practical training, coaching and development to new and existing Mining Operators, with a strong focus on safe, efficient and productive operation of the fleet. Working closely with Mining Supervisors and operational teams, you will identify operator skill gaps, deliver targeted coaching and support continuous improvement in equipment utilisation, operating practices and overall mining performance.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Deliver Mining Operations training to new and existing Mining Operators.
  • Facilitate practical in-field training, coaching and operator assessments.
  • Identify operator skill and performance gaps and deliver targeted development.
  • Coach operators in safe, efficient and productive operation of the HME fleet.
  • Reinforce standard operating practices and support improvements in equipment utilisation and productivity.
  • Assist Mining Supervisors with hot seating and operational support as required.
  • Maintain training records and complete associated administration and scheduling activities.
  • Build strong relationships with operational stakeholders and contribute positively to team performance.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Previous experience in a comparable HME training, coaching or mining operations role.
  • Strong knowledge of open pit mining practices, operational systems and safe work practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver technical and practical training in a professional manner.
  • Autonomous Haulage System experience is essential.
  • Demonstrated operating experience across production excavators, production loaders, dozers, graders and support ancillary equipment.
  • Electric excavator operating experience will be highly regarded.
  • Strong communication, organisation and time management skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
