Work Location: Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.

Roster:  8D/20R -  FIFO ex Perth - B Crew

We are seeking an enthusiastic and safety-focused Mining Operator to join the Resource Definition Earthworks Crew at Cloudbreak.

This is a job-share opportunity working an 8 days on / 20 days off roster, on day shift only. You will fly from Perth to Cloudbreak each Wednesday and work as part of B Crew.

The role will support drilling programs by completing earthworks activities, including the construction and rehabilitation of drill lines, drill pads and sumps. You will work as part of a diverse and collaborative team, contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of Resource Definition activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct earthworks required for drilling programs, including drill lines, pads and sumps.
• Complete rehabilitation earthworks on previously constructed drill lines, pads and sumps.
• Understand and comply with relevant documentation, including Land Use Certificates, Safe Work Instructions and scopes of work.
• Ensure compliance with Fortescue and Resource Definition requirements, including SWIs, LUCs and heritage conditions.
• Participate in reviews of SWIs and other relevant documentation.
• Promote a safe, positive and inclusive work environment.
• Complete machine pre-starts accurately and maintain all required records.
• Identify, report and record machine faults and maintenance requirements.
• Operate mobile earthmoving equipment safely and efficiently.
• Use GPS systems such as Trimble or Guidex, where required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience operating a 966 front-end loader or similar earthmoving machinery.
• Previous mining experience, preferably within an earthworks or drilling environment.
• An understanding of mine site safety requirements and operational documentation.
• Previous experience using Trimble, Guidex or similar GPS systems is desirable but not essential.
• A positive, enthusiastic and self-motivated approach.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team.
• A strong commitment to safety and Fortescue’s values.
