Work Location: Christmas Creek – Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.

 

Roster: 8D/6R - FIFO ex Perth or Busselton

 

Fortescue is seeking an experienced, motivated and adaptable Trainer Assessor to join our Training team at Christmas Creek.

 

This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a dynamic operational environment and is passionate about developing people. Working across Mining, Processing and Mobile Maintenance, you will play a critical role in building workforce capability, maintaining operational excellence and supporting a strong safety culture.

 

No two days are the same. This role provides the opportunity to train and assess across multiple operational disciplines, work alongside experienced operational leaders, and make a genuine impact on the capability and safety of our workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality workplace training, coaching and mentoring in operational environments.
  • Conduct Fortescue-specific training programs, competency assessments and Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments.
  • Facilitate engaging classroom-based training sessions, inductions and practical learning activities.
  • Deliver and assess nationally recognised Units of Competency under Fortescue's Registered Training Organisation partnerships inclusive of, but not limited to, LVR/CPR and Provide First Aid.
  • Partner with operational leaders to identify capability requirements and support workforce development initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate training records and contribute to effective training planning and scheduling.
  • Champion safe work practices while creating positive and engaging learning experiences.
  • Demonstrate initiative, professionalism and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a high-performing team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated operational experience in Mining Operations, Processing or Mobile Maintenance
  • A passion for coaching, mentoring and developing others.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with a high attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • A genuine commitment to safety, teamwork and delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience delivering workplace training and competency assessments.
  • Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) experience (preferred but not essential).
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience using SuccessFactors or other Learning Management Systems (highly regarded).
