Work Location: Perth. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.

Roster: Monday to Friday

The AI Capability Facilitator will build practical AI capability across Fortescue by delivering engaging, hands-on learning experiences for team members with different roles, levels of confidence and AI capability.

The role requires someone who combines strong facilitation and training capability with credible technical knowledge of AI. They need to be able to take something technically complex and make it practical, relevant and usable, whether they are working with someone using AI for the first time or a more advanced user looking to extend how they apply it.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate practical AI learning for beginner, intermediate and advanced audiences.
• Deliver face-to-face workshops, virtual learning sessions, demonstrations, practical labs and other capability-building experiences.
• Facilitate sessions for a broad range of audiences, from operational team members through to leaders and specialist functions.
• Adapt facilitation style, language and content to different levels of AI knowledge, confidence and technical capability.
• Create an environment where team members can experiment with AI, ask questions, test ideas and learn through practice.
• Demonstrate AI tools and use cases live and confidently respond to technical and practical questions.
• Help team members move beyond understanding AI to applying it effectively in their day-to-day work.
• Facilitate conversations that identify opportunities for AI to improve work, solve problems or create value.
• Support the development and continuous improvement of workshops, learning materials, exercises and facilitator resources.
• Work closely with AI specialists and the AI Learning Designer to ensure learning remains technically accurate, practical and current.
• Stay across emerging AI technologies, tools, use cases and ways of working and incorporate relevant developments into learning.
• Travel to Fortescue operational sites as required to deliver learning and capability-building activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Exceptional facilitation and training capability, including both face-to-face and virtual delivery.
• Strong practical knowledge of generative AI and contemporary AI tools.
• Ability to explain technical concepts simply without oversimplifying them.
• Confidence facilitating groups with significantly different levels of AI capability in the same environment.
• Ability to facilitate highly interactive, hands-on learning rather than relying primarily on presentation-based training.
• Strong communication, questioning and group engagement skills.
• Comfortable demonstrating technology live and troubleshooting in the moment.
• Able to build credibility with both technically sophisticated audiences and people who are completely new to AI.
• Comfortable working across corporate and operational environments and travelling to Fortescue sites.
• Curious, adaptable and motivated to continually learn as AI technology develops.
