Electrical Maintenance Planner

Our Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and proactive Electrical Maintenance Planner to join our Port Maintenance team. This is an opportunity to play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical assets across one of the world's largest bulk export facilities. 

As a key contributor to shutdown success, you will be responsible for developing safe, efficient, and executable shutdown maintenance plans for critical electrical infrastructure. Working closely with maintenance, operations, engineering, and external partners, you will ensure every shutdown is thoroughly planned, resourced, and optimised to maximise equipment reliability and operational performance.

Work Location:
Hedland Operations (Port) Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

 

Roster:
4 Days | 3 Off FIFO Ex Perth or DIDO ex Port Hedland

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed maintenance plans, schedules, and work packs for electrical assets across Port Operations. 
  • Coordinate preventative, corrective, and shutdown maintenance activities to maximise equipment reliability and availability. 
  • Convert maintenance notifications into executable work orders, ensuring all required resources, materials, and documents are available.  
  • Collaborate with supervisors, coordinators, and stakeholders to define work scopes, labour requirements, and scheduling priorities.  
  • Facilitate and lead planning and scheduling meetings to align maintenance activities with operational requirements.  
  • Review and process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company processes.  
  • Monitor work management performance and analyse KPIs to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.  
  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance efficiency, asset reliability, and cost performance through innovation and process optimisation.  
  • Drive best-practice work management processes through effective planning, scheduling, and stakeholder engagement. 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience with high voltage (HV) systems.  
  • Proven experience in fixed plant electrical planning. 
  • Significant experience in fixed plant shutdown electrical planning. 
  • Strong technical understanding of fixed plant electrical systems. 
  • Advanced working knowledge of SAP CMMS, MS Office Suite and MS Project. 
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines and operational milestones.  
  • The ability to build effective working relationships across multiple departments and influence positive outcomes.  
  • An Electrical Trade qualification or Electrical Engineering qualification, with a current Electrical Licence (essential).
