An opportunity has arisen for a Programme Quality Engineer to join the Quality department. 

About the role

The main point of contact for Programme Managers and other main stakeholders regarding all Quality topics for Motorsports projects.  Lead internal investigations and correction of non-conformities, while owning all the Quality KPIs and the NPCS activities for the Quality Team.

What you will do

  • Lead Quality activities for each Motorsports Programme in Kidlington, being the main Point of Contact for all Quality Matters for relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead fault investigations, defining priority, severity and responsibility for non-conformances.
  • Ensure Root cause analysis, resolution and implementation of effective corrective actions for non-conformances happen efficiently.
  • Ensure Motorsports Programmes are adhering to necessary NPCS steps.
  • Raise and manage internal concessions.
  • Create and maintain Lesson Learned documents.
  • Be accountable for FMEA activities, defining when and how they are needed and supporting them as necessary.
  • Interface with Customers when necessary, ensuring their Quality requirements are considered.
  • Defining and reporting on quality metrics and KPIs, identifying trends and driving continuous improvement.
  • Ability to interprets complex data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead by example, embodying Fortescue’s Values of family, empowerment, frugality, stretch targets, integrity, enthusiasm, safety, courage & determination, generating ideas and humility in all interactions.

About you

  • Motorsports experience is required.
  • A relevant engineering degree with experience of working in a Quality role.
  • Good communication skills and being a good team player.
  • Knowledge of quality systems such as ISO9001, IATF16949, VDA, AS9100 or similar is required.
  • Experience in FMEA and Control Plans is required.
  • Experience in Problem Solving, NCR, 8D, Concessions and Internal Audits is required.
  • Exposure to customer-specific quality requirements (i.e. FiA homologations, automotive OEM or Tier 1 requests).
  • Experience in customer and interested parties’ liaison including certification bodies, e.g. the BSI / FIA
