An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Manager to join the Finance department in our Kidlington HQ.
About the role
Take ownership of and manage the month end, half-year/year-end and transactional accounting processes ensuring the integrity of underlying financial information.
What you will do
- Coordinate and own key elements of the month end and year end activities, ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and timely delivery of Fortescue Zero’s financial information
- Preparing month end reporting packs with insightful commentary.
- Provide advice and maintain strong communication with the finance business partnering team to ensure transactions are recorded correctly and forecasts reflect Group accounting policies
- Payroll support including monthly reports review, journal preparation, analysis and submissions.
- Provide various approvals and participate in control activities outlined in internal policies and other documents
- Assist with statutory accounts process, external audit, and internal audit
- Maintain a strong relationship with Group Finance to ensure adherence to Group policies, deadlines, reporting requirements/deliverables.
- Assist Group Tax with VAT, corporate tax, RDEC, benefits in kind and other compliance matters.
- Support problem solving, decision making, as well as administrative tasks associated with transactional finance processes.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement and transformation of processes and systems, identifying areas of improvement and working with the business to find solutions.
- Support the Financial Controller and the wider Finance team in other accounting and finance matters, actively contributing to problem solving and improving processes and approaches.
About you
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with at least 3 years experience in a similar role
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience (IFRS)
- Mixture of public practice and industry experience preferred
- Broad experience and understanding of different accounting processes (P2P, OTC, RTR etc)
- Experience in communication at all levels including Senior Management, with an ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Experience with ERP systems essential (D365 preferred).
- Strong Excel skills
