About the role
The Strategy Principal plays a critical role in shaping and driving Fortescue Zero's long-term strategic direction. The role leads the identification, evaluation and execution of strategic initiatives that support business growth, organisational transformation and competitive advantage. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, the Strategy Principal provides thought leadership, rigorous analysis and strategic recommendations that influence key business decisions across multiple functions and business units.
What you will do
Enterprise Strategy
- Define and evolve Fortescue Zero's long-term corporate strategy and strategic priorities.
- Develop enterprise strategic roadmaps supporting sustainable growth, transformation and market leadership.
- Shape the organisation's future business portfolio through evaluation of new markets, technologies and business models.
Executive Strategic Advisory
- Act as a trusted strategic advisor to Executive Leadership.
- Influence enterprise-wide decision making through evidence-based strategic recommendations.
- Challenge conventional thinking and provide independent strategic counsel on complex commercial issues.
- Provide strategic insight to support Board and Executive decision-making where required.
Corporate Development & Growth
- Lead the identification and evaluation of transformational growth opportunities, including acquisitions, investments, partnerships and strategic alliances.
- Determine strategic investment priorities through robust commercial and financial analysis.
- Support negotiation of strategic commercial partnerships.
Enterprise Transformation
- Lead enterprise-wide strategic programmes involving multiple business units.
- Build executive alignment around strategic priorities and organisational transformation.
- Develop governance frameworks and performance measures supporting effective strategy execution.
- Influence organisational resource allocation to maximise long-term value creation.
Market Leadership & Innovation
- Anticipate emerging technology, regulatory and market developments that may impact Fortescue Zero.
- Develop innovative strategic responses that position the organisation for long-term competitive advantage.
- Act as the recognised strategic thought leader across Fortescue Zero.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering or a related field;
- Significant experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, business transformation, corporate development or a related strategic leadership role.
- Proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving strategic outcomes across multiple functions.
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale strategic initiatives with significant organisational impact.
- Expert-level knowledge in strategic planning, business analysis, financial modelling and commercial evaluation.
- Experience operating within complex, fast-paced and high-growth environments.
