An opportunity has arisen for a Systems Accountant to join the Finance department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment.
About the role
The Systems Accountant is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organisation’s D365 ERP environment, developing financial reporting and analysis tools using Excel, Power Query, and Power BI, and leading continuous process improvement initiatives across finance operations.
This role bridges the gap between finance, IT, and business operations, ensuring that financial systems are robust, automated, and scalable to support business objectives.
What you will do
ERP Systems Management (D365) & other Finance Systems
- Act as the functional owner and subject matter expert for D365.
- Maintain and manage system configurations, master data, and finance modules (GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Projects, etc.)
- Deliver system enhancements, new module implementations, and workflow automation initiatives.
- Develop and maintain user access controls, segregation of duties, and compliance with internal control requirements.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and workflow automation initiatives in other finance systems.
- Collaborate with Group to better utilise existing group systems to achieve more accurate, timely reporting and more robust controls.
Reporting, Analytics & Data Modelling
- Build and maintain financial and management reports and models using Power BI, Excel, and Power Query
- Partner with finance and operations to design and develop automated data models, dashboards, and KPIs that provide actionable business insights.
- Integrate D365 data with Power BI for dynamic reporting and drill-down analysis.
About you
- Qualified chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of D365 and the use of the different modules
- Solid understanding of accounting processes, financial controls, and reporting cycles.
- Experience with system implementation or process transformation projects highly desirable.
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Experience using Power BI and Power Query
- Strong communication skills and ability to establish strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders
- Collaborative approach with the ability to work across functional teams.
- Continuous improvement mindset with the goal of automating processes and reducing manual intervention.
