Talent Acquisition Specialist (12 month FTC)

The Power of Now

At Fortescue, we're building the future of zero-emissions energy and technology. As we continue to grow our Electromobility business globally, we're looking for a passionate Talent Acquisition Specialist to help attract the people who will accelerate our journey.

This role will primarily support Elysia, Fortescue's battery intelligence business, which develops embedded battery management software and cloud-based analytics that unlock greater range, safety, charging speed and lifespan from any battery chemistry, applied across automotive, mining and stationary energy storage.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact during an exciting period of growth and transformation. Based in Kidlington and embedded within the Elysia office, you'll work closely with the business you support while playing a pivotal role in shaping diverse, high-performing teams across both corporate and technical functions.

Working closely with leaders, the Fortescue People team and global stakeholders, you'll influence hiring strategies, uncover exceptional talent, and create positive candidate experiences that reflect our values and ambition.

If you're energised by finding talent in competitive markets, building meaningful relationships, and helping people connect with purposeful careers, we'd love to hear from you.

What Success Looks Like

This role holds end-to-end ownership of recruitment for Elysia and is accountable for delivering against agreed hiring targets and timelines for the business. Success in this role means:

  • Consistently meeting time-to-fill, quality-of-hire and pipeline targets agreed with Elysia leadership.
  • Building a strong, sustained talent pipeline that reduces reliance on external agencies over time.
  • Successfully closing out the high-impact, hard-to-fill roles within the team which represent a critical risk to Elysia's growth plans.
  • Being seen by Elysia hiring managers as a trusted, embedded talent partner rather than a transactional recruiter.

What You'll Be Doing

As a trusted Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will:

  • Deliver end-to-end recruitment across multiple locations, ensuring an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience.
  • Take ownership of Elysia's recruitment delivery, partnering with business leaders and the People team to translate workforce plans into effective talent attraction and hiring strategies, and reporting against agreed hiring targets.
  • Provide market intelligence, talent insights and recruitment expertise to support informed hiring decisions.
  • Develop innovative sourcing approaches for specialist, technical and business-critical roles, including international talent pipelines.
  • Actively headhunt for key, high-impact positions within the team.
  • Build and nurture diverse talent communities, proactively identifying future talent needs and reducing reliance on external agencies.
  • Collaborate with Global Mobility, the People team and business stakeholders to support compliant and seamless cross-border hiring.
  • Use direct sourcing, networking and market mapping techniques to identify and engage high-calibre talent.
  • Support growth initiatives, transformation projects and strategic workforce programs across the business.
  • Partner with leaders to define role requirements, challenge thinking where appropriate, and deliver the best hiring outcomes.
  • Manage offers and negotiations in line with market conditions and company frameworks.
  • Foster productive relationships with recruitment partners and preferred suppliers.
  • Ensure all recruitment activities align with legal, ethical and organisational standards, including our commitment to human rights and modern slavery prevention.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment reporting and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance our hiring processes and candidate experience.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who combines strong recruitment expertise with a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.

You'll ideally have:

  • Significant experience in talent acquisition, gained across in-house, agency, or blended recruitment environments.
  • Experience recruiting across the UK, with exposure to European and/or US markets highly regarded.
  • Proven success sourcing and securing talent for specialist, technical or hard-to-fill positions — including demonstrated experience headhunting for senior or Principal-level technical talent.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the confidence to influence and guide hiring decisions, including senior hiring managers on hard-to-fill searches.
  • Knowledge of recruitment best practice, employment legislation and compliance requirements, including right-to-work processes.
  • Experience partnering with external recruitment providers and managing supplier relationships.
  • A commercial mindset, balancing quality, efficiency and business outcomes.
  • Advanced sourcing capability, including LinkedIn Recruiter, talent mapping and proactive market engagement.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Experience within energy, resources, technology, infrastructure or similarly complex industries will be highly regarded.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent professional development is desirable.
