Technical Specialist - Embedded Application Engineering

Role Purpose:
The Technical Specialist in Application Engineering team will lead the integration and validation of the Elysia Embedded product.

 

 

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high performance battery state estimation and control, and diagnostics and prognostics algorithms aimed at maximizing the performance, safety and life of battery systems.

Key Responsibilities

 

•    Leads customer requirements gathering and elicitation into software requirements. 
•    Lead collaboration with cross-functional teams, including software developers, product and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of Elysia Embedded algorithms into customer’s BMS application software.
•    Lead the evaluation of Elysia Embedded algorithms in customer’s controlled and live operating environments (e.g., Virtual, Cell-In-The-Loop, HIL, EOL, vehicle testing).
•    Support hardware benchmarking of Elysia Embedded algorithms.
•    Lead pilot projects, proof of concepts, technical workshops and presentations to demonstrate the capabilities and benefits of Elysia Embedded to potential and existing customers.
•    Fulfil the role of a Lead Application Engineer in Delivery Squads, being responsible for the technical leading of projects delivered to customers.
•    Write and maintain customer facing documentation, maintain fluency of Elysia Embedded Products for communicating capabilities to customers.
•    Defines software quality and compliance with relevant certifications (e.g., MAAB, ASPICE).
•    Owns technical specialist delivery in multiple domains, such as requirements elicitation, system architecting, customer calibration & validation, and/or software delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

 

Details of the experience needed to be successful in the role, the qualifications essential/desirable to be able to fulfil the role and any specific behavioral traits.

 

Essential:
•    Experience in customer-facing roles, providing technical support and translating customer requirements into technical solutions.
•    Bachelor’s or master’s degree with a minimum 2:1 (or equivalent) in a relevant STEM subject (e.g., Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computing, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.).
•    Expertise in code generation using MATLAB/Simulink.
•    Experience with version control and CI/CD frameworks (e.g., Github, Gitlab, Azure DevOps).
•    Excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and maintain a high-level view of project goals.
•    Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.
•    To have a ‘can do’ proactive attitude day in day out and proactively support and collaborate with others.
•    They will be able to take on innovative ideas, concepts, and ways of working to meet strict project deadlines.
•    Willingness to proactively build new relationships & connections across the business in support of team & company goals.

 

Beneficial:
•    Experience with Requirements Elicitation methods.
•    Experience in embedded state estimation algorithm development.
•    Experience in electro-thermal modelling of battery systems. 
•    Experience in ASPICE processes.
•    Experience in electrical testing of battery cells, including development of test plans.
•    Experience with embedded systems and hardware
