Ore Processing Facility Improvement Specialist

Our Opportunity

Location: Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.

 

Roster: 4D3R ex Perth 

 

Reporting to the Manager, Operations and Maintenance, the incumbent will play a pivotal role in bolstering operations by identifying, scrutinizing and executing various business enhancement prospects across the ore processing plant. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Spearheading Improvement Projects: Oversee and ensure the successful execution of improvement projects, fostering a culture of continual growth and advancement
  • Identify and Develop AI opportunities
  • Identifying Operational Opportunities: Identify opportunities for cost reduction, heightened production efficiency, safety enhancement, and a positive cultural impact
  • Conducting Facilitative Workshops: Organize and lead workshops to incorporate diverse viewpoints and options for a comprehensive decision-making process
  • Effective Communication to Management: Present findings and progress updates to the OPF leadership team in a coherent and succinct manner, ensuring a thorough understanding of key developments
  • Supporting Operational Business Plan: Collaborate in the development of an operational business plan and foster an ongoing improvement project pipeline

Qualifications and Experience

  • Postgraduate or Trade qualification in a business or processing-related discipline, 
  • Over 5 years of hands-on experience in a processing operational role within the Mining or Manufacturing sector, highlighting a proven track record of excellence
  • Extensive experience working within both Operations and Maintenance, highlighting a comprehensive understanding of the interplay between these critical aspects of the industry
  • Attention to detail and proficient problem-solving abilities, coupled with the ability for identifying and resolving complex issues
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills, fostering effective collaboration and seamless teamwork
  • Proven ability to work harmoniously with diverse teams and influence others positively, driving a culture of continual improvement and growth
