About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Materials Systems Specialist to join our Asset & Material Management Systems team.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about improving business processes and driving operational excellence across materials management, warehousing, logistics and supply chain functions. Working closely with operational teams, you will analyse current ways of working, identify improvement opportunities, and design fit-for-purpose processes that deliver safer, simpler and more efficient outcomes.

While SAP and supporting technologies form an important part of the role, your primary focus will be understanding business requirements, identifying opportunities to align business processes with SAP best practice, and delivering solutions that simplify, standardise and improve the way we operate.

You will work collaboratively with business stakeholders, process owners and project teams to deliver process improvements, support major transformation initiatives including SAP Field Logistics, and embed sustainable business processes that transition successfully into business-as-usual.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the business process design and requirements definition for SAP Field Logistics implementation
  • Engage with site and corporate stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document business requirements across materials, warehousing, and logistics processes
  • Translate operational needs into functional specifications and work closely with SAP and delivery partners to implement solutions
  • Support the end-to-end implementation lifecycle, including design, build, testing, deployment, and hypercare
  • Ensure alignment with Fortescue’s Work Management and Asset Management standards and processes
  • Identify opportunities for process optimisation and continuous improvement within materials and logistics workflows
  • Provide change management and user engagement support to drive adoption of new systems and processes
  • Facilitate the transition from project delivery into BAU, including documentation, knowledge transfer, and ongoing system support
  • Support day-to-day system operations post-implementation, including troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in business process improvement, continuous improvement or business transformation within supply chain, materials management or asset management environments.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, gathering business requirements and documenting business processes.
  • Strong understanding of materials management, warehousing, logistics and inventory processes.
  • Experience participating in SAP implementations or major business transformation projects.
  • SAP Materials Management (MM) experience is highly regarded, with exposure to SAP Field Logistics considered advantageous.
  • Experience developing process maps, functional specifications and business documentation.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation and influencing skills across operational and technical teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business needs into practical solutions.
  • Experience supporting organisational change, business readiness and project-to-BAU transitions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
