Our Opportunity
Location: Perth – Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people
Roster: Monday to Friday (Up to 2 days p/week WFH and on-site childcare crèche available. Occasional site travel required)
We are seeking an experienced Materials Systems Specialist to join our Asset & Material Management Systems team. This role will play a critical part in the implementation of SAP Field Logistics, supporting the transformation of our materials and supply chain processes across Fortescue’s operations.
Reporting to the Materials Systems Lead, you will be responsible for bridging business requirements and system capability, working closely with operational stakeholders and SAP delivery teams to design and implement fit-for-purpose logistics solutions.
The role will focus on extracting and translating business process requirements into SAP solutions, supporting the end-to-end deployment of Field Logistics, and ensuring a seamless transition into business-as-usual (BAU) support.
This is an opportunity for someone who combines strong SAP expertise with deep process understanding, and who can drive practical, scalable outcomes in a complex operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the business process design and requirements definition for SAP Field Logistics implementation
- Engage with site and corporate stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document business requirements across materials, warehousing, and logistics processes
- Translate operational needs into functional specifications and work closely with SAP and delivery partners to implement solutions
- Support the end-to-end implementation lifecycle, including design, build, testing, deployment, and hypercare
- Ensure alignment with Fortescue’s Work Management and Asset Management standards and processes
- Identify opportunities for process optimisation and continuous improvement within materials and logistics workflows
- Provide change management and user engagement support to drive adoption of new systems and processes
- Facilitate the transition from project delivery into BAU, including documentation, knowledge transfer, and ongoing system support
- Support day-to-day system operations post-implementation, including troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications and Experience
- Extensive experience in SAP Materials Management (MM) or related modules (Essential), with exposure to Field Logistics or similar logistics solutions (Desirable)
- Proven experience as a Business Process Expert, Functional Consultant, or similar role in SAP implementations
- Demonstrated capability in requirements gathering, process mapping, and solution design
- Experience working across inventory, warehousing, and logistics operations (Desirable)
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across operational and technical teams
- Excellent problem-solving capability and a focus on practical, business-aligned outcomes
- Strong communication, facilitation, and influencing skills
- Experience supporting project-to-BAU transition models
- MS Office proficiency (Essential)
