Location: Fortescue Centre - 256 St Georges Tce, Perth

 

Roster: 5D2R, 7.6 hours per day

 

We are seeking an experienced Asset Health Lead to elevate asset health visibility, standardisation and assurance across our fixed plant operations. Reporting to the Superintendent Asset Health, this role plays a critical position in advancing condition monitoring capability across the business.

 

As the enterprise technical authority for vibration-based condition monitoring, you will provide high-level diagnostic expertise and drive best-practice monitoring standards across sites.

 

You will focus on expanding monitoring coverage across critical assets, identifying visibility gaps, and implementing cost-effective defect detection solutions that improve reliability and asset performance.

 

This role bridges central Asset Health and site-based teams, ensuring consistent, technically robust practices aligned with the Asset Health Standard.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to site condition monitoring teams, fostering collaboration and capability uplift

  • Champion Zero Harm through active safety leadership, incident reporting and participation in field safety initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with Asset Health standards, systems and governance requirements

  • Deliver and optimise enterprise asset health platforms to support reliable site performance

  • Analyse reliability data and KPIs to identify gaps, reduce repeat failures and improve fixed plant outcomes

  • Lead and support root cause investigations and defect elimination initiatives

  • Drive continuous improvement through monitoring enhancement projects and new technology trials

  • Conduct asset health audits and provide practical, value-driven recommendations to strengthen site performance

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Asset Health or Condition Monitoring within heavy industry, including fixed plant environments

  • Advanced vibration analysis capability (CAT III certified) with strong diagnostics across rotating and processing plant equipment

  • Strong knowledge of hydrocarbon analysis, thermography and condition monitoring standards and practices

  • Proven experience leading improvement initiatives, audits and contributing to RCA and reliability programs

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and drive strategic initiatives across diverse stakeholder groups

  • Strong technical risk assessment capability and ability to translate analysis into practical business outcomes

  • Proficiency with condition monitoring systems (e.g. Emerson MHM; GE System 1 desirable), SAP PM and MS Office (Power BI exposure advantageous)

  • Relevant trade qualification (Mechanical or Electrical), WA Driver’s Licence and relevant CM certifications (MLA II, MLT I, Thermography Level I required)
