  • Support the category team to prioritise sourcing initiatives that reduce cost, improve equipment availability, shorten lead times and strengthen continuity of supply for current operations.
  • Lead sourcing and supplier negotiations across BVCS supply opportunities, including RFQ/RFP management, commercial evaluations, and cost analysis to deliver value-driven procurement outcomes.
  • Identify, pre-qualify and onboard capable suppliers, ensuring quality, safety, compliance, warranty, technical, logistics and service requirements are understood and met.
  • Ensure procurement activity complies with Fortescue processes and addresses trade, customs, sanctions, Incoterms, ESG, quality and supply chain risk considerations.
  • Provide spend, demand, market, supplier, total-cost and benefits reporting throughout the procurement lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain credible and trusting relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure sourcing effort is aligned with operational priorities and business opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles, preferably within mining, heavy industry, mobile equipment, fixed plant, MRO, or aftermarket environments.
  • Communication skills in Mandarin or other relevant languages will be highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing from low-cost countries and/or global supplier markets, including supplier discovery, qualification and performance management.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in RFx processes, negotiation, contract management, landed-cost analysis and total cost of ownership decision making.
  • Ability to work with technical stakeholders to understand specifications, drawings, quality requirements, warranty expectations and operational constraints.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trust with site operations, maintenance, engineering, logistics and commercial teams.
  • Effective writing, analysis and reporting skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to self-manage, prioritise multiple sourcing initiatives and remain resilient in challenging and changing circumstances.
