Location: Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people

Fortescue is seeking an experienced Principal Creative Copywriter to support the development and delivery of high-quality written content across global communications channels. This role is responsible for translating complex technical and operational information into clear, consistent and engaging messaging aligned with Fortescue’s strategic objectives.

 

This isn’t about just communicating, its about connecting. Most copywriters can write. Few can take something complex, technical, or abstract and turn it into something people actually care about. Fewer still can find the human truth inside it  and build a narrative that cuts through in a relatable and meaningful way. If you are one of those few - this is the job for you.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and deliver high-quality written content across digital, social, web, campaign and executive communication channels
  • Translate complex technical and operational information into clear, accurate and accessible messaging
  • Ensure consistency of tone of voice and alignment with Fortescue’s brand and communication standards
  • Manage multiple content briefs and priorities across a range of internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights and develop effective content solutions
  • Support the preparation of executive communications, including speeches, articles and key messaging materials
  • Contribute to integrated communication campaigns aligned with business objectives and audience requirements
  • Review and optimise content to ensure clarity, accuracy and effectiveness across channels

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a copywriting or content development role within a corporate, agency or media environment
  • Demonstrated experience delivering content across multiple formats, including digital, campaigns and long-form communications
  • Proven ability to translate complex or technical subject matter into clear, structured and audience-appropriate content
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams in a corporate environment
  • Strong understanding of brand governance, communication frameworks and integrated campaign delivery
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in communications, journalism, marketing or a related discipline
  • Experience in sustainability, climate or issues-based communications is desirable
  • Candidates are encouraged to provide examples of recent written work or a portfolio demonstrating experience.
