Fortescue is seeking a motivated Data Analyst to join our Finance Performance Management team, supporting the delivery of cutting-edge digital finance transformation initiatives.

 

Reporting to the Manager Financial Planning & Systems, in this role you will contribute to the design, development and optimisation of data pipelines and integration solutions that enable accurate, reliable and accessible data across the business. Working closely with finance professionals, data engineers and stakeholders, you will help deliver a single source of truth to support forecasting, planning and performance management.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Develop, maintain and optimise data pipelines across ingestion, transformation, validation and delivery stages

  • Build and support data integration solutions across multiple platforms including AWS S3, Snowflake and Workiva Wdata

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver high-quality datasets and insights

  • Implement data quality, governance and security standards to ensure integrity and compliance

  • Perform data wrangling and transformation of structured and unstructured datasets

  • Troubleshoot data issues and resolve pipeline failures to ensure reliable data availability

  • Translate business requirements into functional data solutions and technical specifications

  • Conduct root cause analysis on data discrepancies and implement long-term improvements

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • 1–3 years’ experience in data analytics, data engineering, business analysis or similar roles

  • Exposure to data modelling, database design and relational database principles

  • Experience with SQL, Snowflake, Python, REST APIs or AWS (desirable)

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability

  • High attention to detail with strong communication skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
