Roster: 4D/3R - FIFO ex Perth

 

The Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer plays a key role in the reliability of NPI assets that involves but not limited to, maintenance strategies, FMECAs, RCAs, site support, small scale sustaining capital projects and general site support.

 

This role provides technical leadership across electrical power systems, instrumentation and hazardous area safe operations supporting safe energisation, commissioning, and handover to operations. The position works closely with engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure assets are delivered safely, compliantly, and fit for purpose.

 

Depending on business requirements, the role may have a stronger focus on electrical systems, instrumentation and controls, hazardous area compliance while maintaining a broad multi-discipline capability.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Contribute to the development and execution of maintenance strategies, plans, and schedules for electrical and  instrumentation
  • Develop FMECAs to support maintenance strategies
  • Provide technical input into Hazardous Area Classification, design, inspection, and maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements
  • Support development and maintenance of EEHA dossiers, registers, and inspection regimes
  • Assis in audits, compliance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives related to hazardous areas
  • Maintain a strong visible commitment to safety leadership and field-based risk management
  • Ensure all activities comply with site safety systems, permits, and control of work requirements
  • Interface effectively with engineering, construction, commissioning, operations, and maintenance stakeholders
  • Contribute to a positive safety culture through mentoring, coaching, and leading by example
  • Deliver clear, accurate reporting on progress, risks, and technical issue

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering is essential
  • Exposure to gas systems that require EEHA type B and/or functional safety systems
  • Extensive experience across Instrumentation in mining, oil and gas, chemicals, or heavy industry environments for non-processing infrastructure assets
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capability across electrical and instrumentation assets
  • Demonstrated experience developing PRT, ITRs, work instructions, and handover packs
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • High level of commitment to safety, compliance, and engineering standards
  • SAP Experience - (desirable)
  • EEHA / Hazardous Area certification (IECEx or equivalent) - (desirable)
  • Functional Safety qualification or practical SIL experience - (desirable)
  • Exposure to asset management systems and maintenance strategies - (desirable)
