We are looking for a skilled and safety-focused Electrician to join our team, supporting the reliability and performance of our drill fleet and associated mobile equipment.
This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of equipment and technology while contributing to safe, reliable and efficient operations. You will work collaboratively with maintenance teams, OEM partners and contractors and have the opportunity to contribute to improvement and decarbonisation initiatives.

As part of the maintenance team, you will undertake electrical maintenance, fault finding and repairs across drill rigs and supporting equipment.
You will play an important role in maintaining equipment availability and reliability while ensuring work is completed safely and in accordance with OEM specifications, Fortescue procedures and applicable electrical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain drill rigs and supporting equipment in accordance with manufacturer (OEM) specifications and Fortescue procedures.
- Undertake electrical maintenance, inspections, fault finding and repairs to support safe and reliable fleet performance.
- Identify maintenance consumables, parts and supplies required to support the continuous operation of the fleet.
- Attend and actively participate in toolbox and safety meetings, contributing to the identification of hazards, deficiencies and improvement actions.
- Maintain and operate vehicles, tools and equipment in accordance with company standards.
- Follow SAP and Fortescue work management processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely information is recorded in SAP, including notifications, work orders and time confirmations.
- Undertake hands-on maintenance and manual duties in an outdoor operational environment.
- Contribute ideas and participate in continuous improvement initiatives that positively impact fleet safety, reliability and performance.
- Assist with the commissioning of new plant and equipment as required.
- Work collaboratively with OEM vendors, contractors and internal teams to support new technologies and our decarbonisation journey.

Qualifications and Experience
- A current Western Australian Electrical Licence.
- Experience working with mobile assets, drill rigs, mining equipment or similar heavy industrial equipment.
- HV Switching qualifications and relevant experience.
- Experience with PLC controls and automated systems.
- Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements and relevant Western Australian electrical standards, regulations and legislation.
- Experience using computer-based maintenance management systems, with SAP experience desirable.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities.
- Competency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, plans and electrical schematics.
- A strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time and prioritise competing work requirements.
- A collaborative approach and commitment to contributing to a positive team culture aligned with Fortescue's values.
