Emergency Services Officer
Our Opportunity
Location: Iron Bridge – Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.
Roster: 8D 6R FIFO ex Perth
Emergency Services Officers (ESOs) are a critical part of Fortescue’s emergency response capability at the Iron Bridge project. This role is responsible for responding to onsite emergencies, supporting the daily operations of the Emergency Services and Health teams, and ensuring compliance with emergency management, medical, and security requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to all onsite emergency incidents, including medical, fire, rescue, and hazardous materials events.
- Maintain emergency response equipment and facilities in a state of operational readiness, including inspections and reporting.
- Conduct fitness-for-work and Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) testing in accordance with site and corporate policies.
- Plan, coordinate, and actively participate in emergency drills, exercises, and training activities.
- Deliver onsite medical services and ensure medical facilities are compliant and operationally ready.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and operational support to ERT volunteers and site personnel.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response & Rescue or Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations).
- Certificate IV in Health Care (minimum), with Diploma or Degree highly regarded.
- Demonstrated competency in emergency response disciplines including firefighting, rope rescue, road crash rescue, confined space rescue, breathing apparatus, and hazardous materials.
- Current Western Australian HR Driver’s Licence.
- HLTPAT005 – Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing.
