As an Emergency Services Officer, you will play a critical role as a frontline responder to all emergency incidents on-site. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with emergency management, security, and medical response protocols while actively contributing to the smooth day-to-day operation of the emergency services and medical teams. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to maintain operational readiness at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and respond to on-site emergencies, including fire, medical, rescue, and hazardous materials incidents.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintain emergency equipment to ensure full operational readiness and compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Provide on-site medical assistance and ensure medical facilities are maintained to a high standard.
- Deliver emergency response training and guidance to site personnel and Emergency Response Team (ERT) members.
- Support site-wide safety initiatives, including fitness-for-work assessments and compliance with site alcohol and drug policies.
- Plan, coordinate, and participate in site emergency drills to enhance response efficiency and preparedness.
- Maintain a high level of fitness to perform the role’s physical demands effectively.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response & Rescue or Certificate III in Public Safety (Fire Fighting and Emergency Operations)
- Certificate IV in Health Care (Diploma or Degree in a related field is advantageous)
- Proven competency in Rope Rescue, Road Crash Rescue, Firefighting, Confined Space Rescue, Breathing Apparatus (Open Circuit), and Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) response
- Western Australian HR Driver’s Licence
- Previous experience in emergency response, incident control, and incident management in a mining or industrial environment
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (desirable)
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
