Environment Senior Advisor

Our Opportunity

 

Work Location:  Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

 

Roster:  Monday to Friday

 

Fortescue is seeking an experienced Senior Environment Advisor to support environmental governance and drive continuous improvement across our Pilbara operations and projects.

 

This role plays a key part in maintaining environmental management systems, managing conditioned environmental management plans, supporting compliance obligations, and enhancing environmental performance across the business.

 

Working closely with a range of stakeholders, you will lead environmental management system improvements, support the ongoing optimisation of Enablon, and coordinate environmental communications initiatives.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive environmental professional with strong technical knowledge, stakeholder engagement skills, and experience within the resources sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the ongoing implementation and optimisation of Enablon, ensuring environmental documentation and compliance obligations are accurately maintained.
  • Manage conditioned environmental management plans, including their development, review and regulatory submission.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the Pilbara environmental management system framework across operations and projects.
  • Coordinate and support the delivery of environmental communications and engagement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an environmental role within the resources sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Western Australian environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and report writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of the Pilbara environment will be highly regarded.
