Our Opportunity
Location: Solomon - Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.
Roster: 8D6R - FIFO ex. Perth
The Mechanical Boilermaker / Fabricator role reports directly to the OPF Central Maintenance Supervisor and will be responsible for assisting with repairing, maintaining, constructing and improving systems and equipment to safely deliver world class availability and reliability operational processing plants at Solomon.
Key Responsibilities
- Work within a small and highly efficient Projects team on various improvements at Solomon mine site.
- Maintain all assets to operational capacity whilst consistently striving to increase process efficiency.
- Demonstrate behaviours that align with the Fortescue values.
- Comply with Zero Harm principles daily, following processes and procedures.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, contributing to team goals and supporting colleagues.
- Ability to read and interpret drawing, along with the ability to identify and rectify fabrication problems.
- Assist with fabrication and installation of precision component replacements during shutdowns and weekly maintenance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Australian Recognised Trade Certificate – Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication Trade).
- Experience working within a Fixed Plant (dry and wet plant) processing environment.
- Problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Current White card.
- High risk work licence of EWP and forklift (desired but not required)
- Working at heights (desired but not required)
