12 month fixed term opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join Fortescue’s Group Health team in a 12-month fixed term contract.
The role provides Workers’ Compensation and Injury Management support across three Fortescue operations — Christmas Creek, Cloudbreak, and Solomon — while also contributing to a range of health-related projects.
We are looking for a candidate who brings a flexible mindset, is comfortable challenging traditional ways of working, and thrives in a collaborative team environment.
The ability to step outside of your comfort zone and adapt to changing priorities will be key to success. A background in Workers’ Compensation is ideal, with experience in injury management or health-related roles highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
- Continual improvement of Fortescue’s Workers Compensation and Injury Management systems and procedures.
- Provide guidance and coaching to Fortescue site Return to Work Coordinators, Leaders and Workers on Workers Compensation and Injury Management.
- Collaborate with Fortescue’s Workers Compensation Insurer, Broker and Service Providers to ensure best practice return to work and claim strategies.
- Complete End of Month and Payroll reporting.
- Facilitate Return to Work Planning and Fitness for Work assessments on complex cases or where Perth based support is required.
- Perform health related projects associated with Injury Management and Fitness for Work.
- Support Group Health with other general Health tasks relating to fitness for work and inbox management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary Qualification in Allied Health.
- Demonstrated track record of mentoring Return to Work Coordinators and operational Leaders towards achieving organizational objectives.
- Workers Compensation and Injury Management experience in Western Australia. Preferred experience with Workcover WA Conciliation/ Arbitration Service, Claims Reviews and Claims Settlements.
- Experience in Health and Injury Management in the resources sector.
- Enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, in collaboration with other like-minded team members and adjacent teams.
- Proven working experience in implementing Health & Safety initiatives or projects.
- Excellent computer literacy, reporting skills, problem solving and organisational skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities.
- Previous experience in job task analysis and understanding usual duties assessments.
