Location: Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

 

Roster: 8D/20R - 8 Days On, 20 Days Off

Position Type: Permanent Job Share

 

Fortescue is seeking a motivated and safety-focused High Risk Trainer & Assessor to join the Solomon Training team.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic, customer-focused team where safety, capability and continuous improvement are at the forefront.

 

In this permanent job-share role, you will deliver high-quality, compliant and engaging training that supports our workforce to operate safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver WorkSafe Accredited High Risk training

  • Deliver Nationally Accredited training under an auspice arrangement with our RTO

  • Conduct High Risk Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments

  • Facilitate site inductions as required

  • Provide accurate and practical guidance on High Risk legislation, standards and safe work practices

  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships across site to support operational capability

Qualifications and Experience

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent) – essential

  • WorkSafe Accredited High Risk Trainer

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver High Risk Work Licences for DG, LF, WP, CV and CN

  • Proven experience within surface mining operations

  • National Units of Competency in the following (highly desirable):

    • Safe Working at Heights

    • Enter and Work in Confined Spaces

    • Gas Test Atmospheres

    • Telescopic Handler

    • Skid Steer

  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and SAP
