Work Location:  Perth, WA.  Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

 

Roster:  Monday to Friday.

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Infrastructure and Operations, as the Infrastructure Analyst you will be responsible for monitoring, analysing, reporting, and automating the management of IT infrastructure. This role focuses on improving visibility, reducing manual effort through automation, and enabling proactive, data-driven decision-making to enhance system reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

 

Monitoring & Observability

  • Monitor infrastructure systems including servers, networks, cloud platforms, and applications
  • Identify gaps and opportunities to increase visibility of infrastructure and quality of monitoring and reporting.
  • Liaise with infrastructure teams to configure and maintain monitoring tools.
  • Develop, tune, and optimise alerting to ensure high-quality signal detection
  • Analyse system health, performance trends, and anomalies

Reporting & Analytics

  • Produce regular and ad hoc reports on infrastructure performance, incidents, and capacity
  • Build and maintain dashboards for operational and leadership visibility
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data trends
  • Track and report on SLAs, KPIs, and service metrics
  • Support audit, compliance, and governance reporting

Automation & Data Capture

  • Identify opportunities for automation through monitoring and observability insights.
  • Automate data collection from infrastructure systems and monitoring platforms
  • Implement automated alerting, remediation, and reporting workflows
  • Support integration between monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and reporting platforms
  • Contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and configuration automation initiatives
  • Continuously improve processes by reducing manual intervention and increasing efficiency

Incident & Problem Support

  • Investigate alerts and incidents, performing root cause analysis
  • Collaborate with engineering and support teams to resolve issues
  • Identify recurring problems and contribute to permanent solutions

Infrastructure Support & Improvement

  • Support maintenance of infrastructure systems (servers, networks, cloud)
  • Assist with upgrades, patching, and configuration management
  • Contribute to capacity planning and performance optimisation
  • Support backup monitoring and disaster recovery readiness

Documentation & Governance

  • Maintain documentation for monitoring configurations, automation scripts, and reporting processes
  • Ensure compliance with security, operational, and governance standards
  • Promote best practices in monitoring, automation, and reporting

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with monitoring/observability platforms, automation frameworks and tools
  • Ability to design and implement data collection and reporting pipelines
  • Experience with dashboarding and reporting tools
  • Experience with ITSM practices for handling incidents, requests, changes, and problems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities with a focus on problem resolution.
  • Well-organised and capable of managing multiple competing priorities.
  • Collaborative mindset, contributing to a positive, team-focused culture.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with global processes.
  • Knowledge of and experience in infrastructure environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to translate technical data into meaningful business insights
