Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: Cloudbreak - Fortescue's Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.

 

Roster: 7D/7N/14R – FIFO ex Perth, Busselton, Broome, Karratha, Port Hedland, Fitzroy Crossing and Kununurra.

 

Cloudbreak is seeking an experienced and motivated LV Fitter to join our Mobile Maintenance team. In this permanent role, you will maintain and repair a diverse fleet of light vehicles to support safe, reliable and efficient mining operations. Working on our family-friendly lifestyle roster, you will perform planned and breakdown maintenance while contributing to equipment reliability and continuous improvement across site.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Perform servicing, inspections and repairs on a diverse fleet of light vehicles.
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
  • Complete planned and breakdown maintenance safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to maximise fleet reliability and minimise downtime.
  • Overhaul, service and repair mechanical components including engines, transmissions, clutches, brakes and driveline systems.
  • Complete quality inspections, defect reporting and accurate maintenance records in SAP.
  • Participate in effective shift handovers to ensure continuity of work and safe operations.
  • Champion Fortescue's safety culture, Values in Action and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Australian recognised Light Vehicle Mechanical trade qualification.
  • Experience maintaining light vehicles in mining, heavy industry or a similar environment.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience working on Toyota LandCruiser, Hilux and mine support fleets is highly regarded.
  • Current C Class Manual Driver's Licence.
  • Air-conditioning, auto electrical, tyre fitting or wheel alignment experience is advantageous.
  • SAP experience and/or HR Driver's Licence desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, teamwork and high-quality workmanship.
