Fortescue is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to support the reliability, availability, and performance of both Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) and Light Vehicle (LV) fleets across site operations.

 

Reporting to the Senior Planner, this role plays a critical part in developing, coordinating, and executing effective maintenance plans and schedules that support operational requirements, safety standards, and long-term asset performance. This opportunity is suited to planners with experience across mobile equipment, automotive, or mixed fleet environments.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Collaborate closely with front-line leaders to deliver effective short-term and long-term maintenance planning for HME and LV maintenance teams.
  • Develop and maintain accurate schedules for planned maintenance, servicing, and shutdown activities across mobile fleets.
  • Ensure all planning and scheduling activities align with Fortescue’s Work Management and safety processes.
  • Maintain work centres, perform capacity levelling, and ensure weekly work schedules are clearly communicated and achievable.
  • Manage component tracking, service intervals, and maintenance plan resets for mobile assets.
  • Support safe work execution through detailed job planning, risk identification, and clear communication of job requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance planning and execution.
  • Remain engaged with Fortescue’s sustainability and decarbonisation initiatives, including the adoption of new technologies and ways of working.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Proven experience in maintenance planning and scheduling within a heavy mobile equipment, light vehicle, or automotive workshop environment.
  • A trade qualification (e.g. Heavy Diesel, Automotive, or similar) is highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of safe, efficient maintenance practices and work management principles.
  • Proficiency in planning tools and systems such as SAP, Excel, MS Project, and Word; Anaplan experience is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and act on Work Management KPIs and planning metrics.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands in a dynamic operational environment.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across maintenance, operations, and supply teams to drive proactive maintenance outcomes.
