Our Opportunity
Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office - located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people
Roster: Monday to Friday, with flexible work arrangements available
We are seeking a Management Accountant / Finance Business Partner to join our Metals Functions Team, supporting financial performance and value delivery across the Approvals, Community and Services Functions.
Reporting directly to the Manager Finance BP Metals Functions, you will join a fast-paced, high-performing finance business partnering team that is passionate about delivering value through collaboration, insight, and continuous improvement. This role is suited to a proactive and commercially minded individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is motivated to contribute to a positive and high-performing team culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of accurate and transparent month-end results, budgets, and quarterly forecasts, ensuring timeliness and alignment with Fortescue’s reporting standards
- Provide comprehensive analysis and driver-based costs analysis to support business decisions
- Support month-end processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness, while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency
- Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders and support the delivery of financial insights to inform decision-making.
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards (e.g. AASB) and Fortescue’s accounting policies, maintaining the integrity of financial reporting and supporting the organisation’s commitment to transparency and corporate governance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Membership (or working towards) CAANZ qualification or CPA Australia
- Experience in a finance or accounting role is preferred
- Collaborative team player, proactive problem solver and passion towards learning new systems or financial tools
- Strong analytical, written and interpersonal communication skills
- High degree of attention to detail and commit to meeting deadlines
- Advanced skills in Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experiences with SAP, Anaplan, Power BI is preferred
