We are currently looking for enthusiastic and high performing Senior Mining Engineer to join the AHS projects team. Reporting to the Manager – AHS program Delivery, this role is responsible for the preparation and delivery of AHS projects mining Schedules along with coordination of mine development projects, fleet forecasting, technology transition and associated AHS related designs. To be successful in this role candidates must have strong interpersonal skills with experience in operational, short and longer-term planning intervals, and being able to articulate potential risks and opportunities within the planned works.
Key Responsibilities
- Timely delivery of AHS projects strategic schedules and forecasts to meet internal delivery and deployment timelines including operational pit sequencing, earthworks requirements and material transfer, technology transition plans, fleet conversion, infrastructure planning and asset displacement.
- Liaising with internal functions, including 2 yr and LOM operational planning, approvals, AMR, site operational and Decarbonisation teams, to understand risk and opportunities to the operation and to enable timely achievement of project milestones
- Creation and communication of mine designs associated with AHS project deployment
- Coordination of multiple stakeholders in mine deployment and development projects to distribute resources effectively and meet critical deadlines for delivery
- Communicating plans, scenarios, and designs with relevant stakeholders
- Scenario planning, risk analysis and tracking against Quarterly forecasts
- Liaise with 2-year and LOM planning to ensure AHS deployment alignment across the relevant time horizons
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or similar
- Minimum 3 Years proven experience as a Mining Engineer, preferably with exposure to AHS and operational, medium and long-term planning
- Practical approach to engineering and design problems
- Experience with mine design and planning software
- Team orientation and strong ability to take initiatives
- Excellent communication/presentation skills with the ability to convey technical detail, potential risks and opportunities within the planned works to a variety of stakeholders
