Work Location: Pilbara Operations, located on the traditional lands of the relevant Traditional Custodians.


Roster: 7 Days / 7 Nights / 14 Off, FIFO ex Perth or Busselton. Flights operate Tuesdays.


Reporting to: Supervisor Mining / Supervisor Operations — to be confirmed.

 

The Entry Level Mining Operator role is an opportunity to start or build a career in mining operations. This role supports the safe and efficient running of site activities through practical field work, general operational support and the operation of mobile equipment once trained and authorised.

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. This role requires someone who is comfortable working in an active mining environment, completing on-the-ground tasks, following instructions and working as part of a team. Previous mining experience is not essential, however experience in civil, construction, farming, transport, labouring, warehousing or other hands-on roles will be well regarded.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate mobile equipment safely once trained, assessed and authorised.
• Assist with pit, ROM, haul road, loading area and general mine site activities where required.
• Conduct pre-start checks, basic inspections and report defects or hazards.
• Follow site procedures, traffic management requirements and supervisor instructions.
• Maintain good housekeeping around work areas, equipment and facilities.
• Support safe production by identifying risks and speaking up when something is unsafe.
• Participate in pre-starts, toolbox meetings, handovers and training activities.
• Work cooperatively with operators, supervisors, maintenance teams and other site personnel.
• Be flexible and willing to support changing operational priorities across the shift.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Entry level candidates are encouraged to apply
  • WA C Manual Driver’s License
  • Ability to work a FIFO roster and shift work
  • Ability to work safely in a remote Pilbara mine site environment
  • Willingness to complete both equipment operating duties and practical on the ground tasks
