Our Opportunity
Work Location: Across all Fortescue Pilbara Operations
Roster: 8D/6R - FIFO ex Perth
We are looking for experienced and safety-focused Mining Operators to join our Resource Definition Hydrogeology Earthworks team. In this hands-on role, you will operate CAT 966M Front End Loaders and 6x4 Water Carts to support earthworks activities that enable exploration and resource definition across our operations.
You will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of safety, productivity and operational performance, while also mentoring team members and contributing to a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate mining equipment in accordance with site procedures and standards.
- Conduct pre-start inspections and report equipment issues promptly.
- Conduct clearing and rehabilitating earthworks for Hydrogeology drilling programs including drill pads and sumps and access tracks.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, risk management, and environmental compliance.
- Support production targets through efficient and effective equipment operation.
- Assist with coaching and mentoring less experienced operators.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team activities.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated experience operating mining equipment in a production mining environment.
- Relevant licences, tickets, and site competencies.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a diverse workforce.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
