We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated OPF Control Room Operator to join our Iron Bridge Fixed Plant Operations team.
Critical to the success of Fortescue’s Iron Bridge Fixed Plant Operation, this role is accountable to ensure the OPF shift production targets set out in the 24hr plan are safely and efficiently achieved. Reporting to the Iron Bridge OPF Control Supervisor, this OPF Controller role is accountable for the Iron Bridge OPF Operations Centre interaction and coordination with wider Iron Bridge site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day OPF control room operations in line with direction from the OPF Control Supervisor and site operations teams.
- Monitor plant performance through SCADA systems, alarms, and trends, taking corrective action and escalating issues as required.
- Identify production opportunities, investigate breakdowns and delays, and support timely resolution of operational issues.
- Maintain clear, concise, and effective communication across two-way radio, email, and direct interactions, including high-quality shift handovers.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting using business systems such as A-Plus, Babelfish, Excel, and Outlook.
- Develop, review, and maintain OPF control procedures, including SWIs, single-point lessons, and compliance with FMG corporate, site, and emergency procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an OPF Control Operations role.
- Proficiency with SCADA systems (Complicity or equivalent highly advantageous).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear, concise direction and information.
- High level of computer literacy with an interest in innovation and technology.
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Demonstrated capability to multitask, prioritise competing demands, and maintain operational focus.
