People & Skills Senior Advisor
Our Opportunity
Work Location: Perth.
Roster: Monday – Friday. 18 month fixed term contract
Fortescue is seeking a Decarb People and Skills Senior Advisor to support workforce readiness as the business continues to evolve in line with its decarbonisation goals.
This role sits within the Decarb People Readiness & Skills function and plays an important part in workforce planning, transition and capability uplift. You will help maintain and strengthen the Decarb workforce planning model , generate meaningful workforce insights, and support the delivery of practical workforce and skills plans as role and capability needs evolve.
Working closely with operations, site leaders, the People team and project stakeholders, you will turn workforce data into clear, actionable plans that support workforce readiness across a dynamic operating environment. This includes helping shape approaches to upskilling and workforce planning priorities.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and continuously improve the Decarb Workforce Planning Model in line with evolving operational requirements
- Provide workforce insights (headcount, risks, productivity opportunities) to support planning cycles and decision-making
- Identify workforce gaps and inform recruitment, upskilling and redeployment strategies
- Support workforce impact assessments and translate findings into actionable transition plans
- Contribute to the implementation of workforce transition and skills pathway initiatives
- Collaborate with site, operational and People teams to embed workforce and capability plans
- Support delivery of the Build, Buy, Borrow talent framework through targeted interventions
- Deliver workforce reporting and insights to support governance, planning and performance tracking
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in workforce planning, workforce analytics or strategic workforce planning
- Experience working in complex, operational environments (e.g. mining, industrial or similar)
- Strong analytical and modelling capability with the ability to translate data into practical outcomes
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including frontline interaction
- Understanding of workforce transition, organisational design and capability planning principles
- Relevant tertiary qualification in HR, business, analytics or a related discipline (desirable)
