Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: Christmas Creek - Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.

 

Roster:  8D6R7N7R FIFO ex Perth

 

Fortescue are offering a position as a Permit Coordinator to an individual with experience in Isolation and permit to work to join the Permit Team at the Christmas Creek Iron Ore processing operation.

 

The successful candidate will provide essential support to ensure isolation and permit to work comply with Fortescue policies and procedures and will coordinate effectively with all relevant stakeholders to ensure the safe and timely execution of plant breakdown maintenance, scheduled maintenance and major shutdown maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Investigate, prepare and arrange isolation statements and Permit to Work for Fixed Plant shutdown, breakdown and general electrical and mechanical maintenance activities.
  • Provide specialist support during shutdown execution to ensure the safest and most optimal maintenance execution is achieved.
  • Ensuring the isolation and permit to work process are executed to the highest safety standard while minimising impacts to production targets.
  • Regular inspections of work areas to ensure correct isolations are in place and are functional.
  • Conduct regular audits of plant, processes and documentation associated with Isolation and Permit to Work
  • Actively support improvements with plant, processes and documentation associated with Isolation and Permit to Work

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Current WA Electrical Licence with high voltage experience is preferred
  • Experience with isolation and permit to work processes and procedures is preferred
  • Experience interpreting piping and instrumentation & electrical documentation is preferred
  • Mining experience in a Fly/in Fly/out environment is essential
  • Computer literacy and experience with a multitude of systems is essential
  • A high attention to detail
  • Ability to work safely and effectively when exposed to significantly increased workload
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management and engagement is essential
