Our Opportunity
Work Location: Perth – Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people
Roster: Monday to Friday
*Perth-based role with some site travel across Pilbara operations
As a member of the Asset and Materials Management (AMM) leadership team, the Principal Change Management role provides strategic leadership and advice on change initiatives that support AMM and Fortescue's Pilbara operations.
The role leads the development and execution of change strategies across a portfolio of business transformation, operational improvement and technology initiatives. Working closely with leaders, project teams and operational stakeholders, the role ensures change is effectively planned, communicated, adopted and embedded to deliver sustainable business outcomes.
The role plays a key part in building organisational capability, enabling leaders to successfully lead change and supporting the achievement of AMM's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic change leadership across AMM initiatives that impact AMM’s internal and external stakeholders
- Lead alignment between AMM, operations, technology, supply chain, maintenance and other business groups to support consistent change outcomes
- Advise senior leaders on AMM level change impacts, adoption risks, stakeholder readiness and implementation priorities
- Shape the change approach for complex transformation, technology, process improvement and operating model initiatives
- Establish consistent change standards, governance, frameworks and ways of working across the AMM portfolio
- Influence cross-functional decisions by bringing a whole-of-business view of people, process, system and operational impacts
- Build leader capability across AMM and partner groups to lead change confidently and consistently
- Drive stakeholder alignment across Perth and Pilbara operations to support adoption, benefits realisation and sustainable change
- Translate strategic priorities into practical change plans, communications and engagement activities
- Monitor adoption, manage resistance and ensure change is embedded into business routines and operational ways of working
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience leading strategic change in complex, multi-site or cross-functional environments
- Demonstrated ability to shape change strategy, influence senior leaders and align stakeholders across business groups
- Strong knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
- Experience establishing change frameworks, governance and ways of working across a portfolio of initiatives
- Excellent ability to coach, influence and support leaders to embed sustainable change
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences
- Demonstrated experience managing change linked to process improvement, operating model change or technology implementation
- Ability to translate strategic priorities into practical change plans that support operational outcomes
- Flexibility to travel to site operations when needed
