Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: Perth - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

 

Roster: Monday to Friday

 

The Principal People role is a key business partner to Fortescue’s Integrated Operations. Integrated Operations brings together people and technology to enable end-to-end alignment of operations from mine to market. Working within this dynamic environment, you will partner with leaders across critical operational functions to deliver people strategies that support long term organisational goals. Operating at both a strategic and operational level, you will provide trusted advice, lead key People initiatives, and help build an engaged and empowered workforce aligned to Fortescue’s values and decarbonisation ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders to embed People strategies that support a high performance, safety focused, and values driven culture
  • Deliver key People programs including Performance & Remuneration Reviews, Workforce Planning, and Talent Management
  • Provide commercial and people insights to support operational decision making  
  • Analyse employee engagement data and partner with leaders to drive targeted initiatives that improve engagement and retention
  • Coach and support leaders in employee matters, including investigations, performance management, and conflict resolution
  • Design and deliver leadership capability initiatives, including employment practices, cultural awareness, and diversity

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Employee Relations or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a business partnering role including working with executive and senior level management
  • Strong ability to influence and engage stakeholders at multiple levels
  • Commercially astute with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Highly adaptable, with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset
  • Communication, problem solving, and relationship building will all be critical to your success in this role, as will your skills in engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders to influence outcomes.
  • Experience with case management and disciplinary processes essential.
  • SuccessFactors experience would be highly advantageous.
