Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday
An exciting opportunity is available for a Principal Approvals Planning professional to join the Fortescue family and play a key role in supporting the company’s decarbonisation ambitions and the delivery of future green iron ore mining projects across the Pilbara, with flexible working arrangements available.
This role is well suited to a proactive approvals specialist who thrives in complex project environments and is passionate about enabling sustainable energy and mining outcomes, while benefiting from a supportive and flexible workplace.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee business activity scoping and approval processes through to completion.

Consolidate integrated approvals advice and status updates to support effective planning, prioritisation, and risk management.

Clearly communicate approval pathways and schedules to relevant stakeholders and scope owners.

Prepare materials for, and facilitate, approvals planning meetings and forums.

Identify scheduling risks, optimisation opportunities, and mitigation strategies, while actively monitoring the approvals risk profile.

Ensure all project information remains accurate and up to date within the Integrated Approvals Schedule.

Use the Integrated Approvals Schedule to maintain a strategic overview of approvals progress and delivery status.

Lead, support, and mentor team members to enable successful delivery of key outcomes.

Champion a strong safety-first culture, fostering an environment where safety is embedded in everything we do.
Qualifications and Experience

Minimum of 8 years’ experience in mining projects and operations, approvals, project management, or a related field.

Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.

Proven ability to engage, collaborate with, and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Highly organised, with the ability to coordinate, prioritise, and manage competing demands in a dynamic environment.

Collaborative team player, able to work effectively across diverse teams and business functions.

Experience using Geospatial Information Systems (GIS).

Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive working environment.
