Work Location: Eliwana – Flying Fish – Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people

 

 

Roster:  8 days on and 6 days off

 

 

The Product Acceptance Specialist is responsible for validating Fortescue’s HaulX Fleet Management and Autonomous Haulage solutions in real-world mining environments. This hands-on role involves designing and executing test plans that simulate operational scenarios, ensuring products meet functional and performance requirements prior to deployment.

 

 

Leveraging your experience in mining operations or fleet management systems, you will work closely with operators, pit technicians, and engineering teams to execute tests, capture system behaviour, and identify defects through structured reporting. You will act as a critical quality gate, ensuring solutions are fit-for-purpose before release to Fortescue operations and external customers.

 

 

This role offers direct involvement in the development and deployment of a world-class autonomous mining solution, with exposure to both site operations and product development teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and maintain test plans and test cases aligned with functional and operational requirements
  • Execute testing in live and simulated mining environments, capturing accurate performance data and evidence
  • Identify, document, and track defects through structured bug reporting systems
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Verification, and site-based teams to support product readiness
  • Provide operational and user-focused feedback to improve system performance, usability, and reliability.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Experience in mine control, fleet management systems, autonomous haulage, or related mining operations
  • Strong understanding of mining production systems and dispatch/fleet control workflows
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to follow structured processes and accurately document outcomes
  • Experience with autonomous haulage systems (AHS) or operational technology (OT) would be advantageous
  • Exposure to testing, validation, or quality assurance processes
  • Familiarity with Fortescue operations, systems, or ways of working would be advantageous
  • Experience working in safety-critical or real-time operational environments
  • Proficiency in data capture, analysis, and reporting tools (e.g. Excel or similar).
